How the JVenn Bursary has helped Rhiannon

I am due to start University on the 26th September 2016, I will be studying English with Law. I am feeling excited and eager to move onto the next stage in my life which will bring me one step closer to my chosen career, teaching. My degree gives me more opportunities to explore as it is combined with my two favourite subjects. This is something I was apprehensive about at first when choosing a degree because it would mean focusing on two separate subjects, however I am fully satisfied and happy with my decision.
I keep thinking back to results day and it seems a life time ago since my place at Hull University was finalised. My time at Wyke College will never be forgotten as it is the place that helped and supported me through my A levels, which resulted in great outcomes and rewarding experiences. The summer break has flown by and I have had the opportunity to spend some quality time with my son although I am certainly ready to get back to studying. My son has started school and is really enjoying himself making new friends and learning new things each day.
Applying for the Jvenn bursary was the best thing I have done. The help, support and security the bursary offers is something in which I needed to ensure I am able to carry on my studies at University as well as taking care of myself and my son. The bursary has already began to support me by allowing me to order books for my reading list to ensure I am ready and prepared to start my course. Also allowing me to buy stationary equipment to ensure I have everything I need to be successful at university. However, most of all the bursary has helped conquer some of the fears and worries I face as a young student and mum, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
So now the countdown begins, 11 days until University starts.
