The first semester of University is nearly finished and it is everything everyone said it would be. I have made some great friends, who I am excited about sharing a house with next year. I am proud to be volunteering for East African Playgrounds for a month over the summer as it is an amazing charity and experience to be a part of. I am also looking into study abroad for next year where my hardest decision will be for how long I go. I am excited about the marks coming back from my assignments and looking forward to getting more feedback on how to improve. My advice for anyone in University or thinking about going to University is to not worry if it takes you a while to settle down and make some good friends, or if your homesick for weeks longer than anyone else, it will get easier and you will definitely make friends. Everyone is in the same boat as you. In my spare time I socialize a lot with friends I made, we go to the library, have movie nights and go shopping. To me it’s a lot different from Hull and I enjoy it much more but I think that’s more to do with the atmosphere and the people I’m around rather than physical differences between the places. On the other hand I’m always excited to come back to Hull now because it means coming home.
